Arrive by air FAQs

We have answered some of the most frequently asked question about flying in below.

Do I need to book online?

Reserving your landing slot in advance online is the only way to arrive by air. Capacity is limited so we operate on a first-come-first-served basis, allowing pilots to reserve a slot online. Bookings are limited to one per customer. Online booking closes at 8am on 17th May 2024.

What does it cost to arrive by air?

During booking we will collect the airport’s landing fee. This is normally £19 (including processing costs), but we will be subsiding 50% of this so as a show visitor you only pay £9.50. By flying in to the event you also get free show access for you and your passengers.

How does pre-booking work?

You can reserve a slot in advance, with nothing to pay until a month before the show. When pre-booking closes on 19th April you’ll have two weeks to confirm and pay for your landing slot. On 3rd May any bookings that haven’t been confirmed will be cancelled and their landing slots returned to the pool.

During booking you’ll be prompted to set a password. You can use this to log in at any time to view or cancel your current reservation and book a different slot.

Once pre-booking closes any new reservations will be paid for at the time of booking and automatically confirmed.

My ideal landing time has already been reserved, will more slots become available?

We are working with the airport to increase capacity for this year’s event, with slots available at 5 minute intervals from 8:30 until 13:15.

When one of these slots is reserved it will no longer be available to book. But any cancelled slots will be returned to the available pool. We expect some additional slots to become available when the window for confirming pre-booked slots ends on 3rd May.

Can I cancel or change my booking?

Yes, you can cancel an existing booking at any time by logging in to our Pilots Area and clicking the Cancel option against your slot. If you want to you can then book a new time slot from those available.

Until you confirm your slot no money will be taken. After a slot has been confirmed we are unable to refund you, unless you are cancelling one slot to book another. In these cases you should book your new slot and then submit a cancellation request for your original slot. We will then refund you the original landing fee, so you’ll still only pay once.

If you are unable to arrive by air for any reason you can still benefit from complimentary access to the show. Gate staff will have your details but we recommend bringing a copy of your booking confirmation email if you can. You can also use the landing fee paid as credit against a future landing at Wycombe Airpark (valid for 6 months).

What happens if I miss my landing slot time on the day?

We understand that it won’t always be possible to arrive at the precise time you have booked. But don’t worry, as long as you arrive within 15 minutes of your reserved time the airport will still be able to land you.

What happens if bad weather prevents me from flying in?

If you are unable to fly in to the event due to weather conditions you will still be entitled to complimentary event access if you are able to arrive by another means. Gate staff will have your details but we recommend bringing a copy of your booking confirmation email if you can. You can also use the landing fee paid as credit against a future landing at Wycombe Airpark (valid for 6 months).

Where can I find technical information about landing at Wycombe Airpark?

Information on the event-specific procedures for arriving and departing will be available in a dedicated Pilot Briefing Pack that we will send out and will be available Ito download here closer to the show.

Pilots are reminded that the airfield operates an air ground communication service. As such pilots are responsible for ensuring that they are adequately briefed before flight and that they operate in line with the rules of the air and general airmanship.

Once you have arrived at the airfield please report to the reception located underneath the tower. Here you and your passengers will receive your wrist bands for entry to the event. You will also have the chance to book your departure slot, which will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.
